Solana Founder Unveils Big Blockchain Update

Anatoly Yakovenko urges validators to update nodes despite negativity around SOL.

Co-founder of Solana Labs and the person who created the 1.13.5 is Anatoly Yakovenko. Yakovenko claims that the upgrade should resolve any UDP-based protocol overload-related Solana network disruptions.

This issue has previously resulted in lengthy shutdowns of the Solana network, which is currently in testing. Many of the biggest validators in the Solana network, according to Solscan, are still not updated. Only 44.53% of the validators have been upgraded to the newest version.

The cryptocurrency industry still has certain concerns regarding Solana’s performance as a blockchain despite the significant upgrade. Large data servers’ blockage of nodes, their centralized storage, their protracted outages, and the requirement for the co-founder to personally ask validators to update generate a lot of concerns and deepen public mistrust of the blockchain.

Network state of Solana

When most users are worried about the effects of the FTX collapse, the project team shared a snapshot of the health of the Solana network earlier in the week to demonstrate the transparency of operations. The statistics shown indicates that there are currently 2,000 transactions per second on average.

Additionally, the average block time has decreased and is at 0.5 milliseconds. The number of daily programs used has decreased as a result of a decline in network activity, which is a negative development.
